Yesterday was interesting. The highlight was me spilling chicken blood all over myself. *cue music in background* Don't ask. :P
Finally watched Ocean's Thirteen - disappointingly lame. Entertaining, yes, but the first two movies were cleverer (what a word o.O). Though George Clooney in 70ies disguise was almost worth it. *g*
I'm following Pityu's example and laze around today - yay for sundays!

Simon Pegg.
Something with a theme this time - an 'on set' picspam. Pirates of the Caribbean, Doctor Who, Heroes and Hugh Jackman & Ewan McGregor.

Uni Life: Summer #2 / Exciting Times!

  • Jul. 19th, 2008 at 9:06 PM
IMPORTANT QUESTION FIRST
Time to buy a new wallet! (actually it isn't, I just can't resist these beauties)
"Why you waste money?"
OR
"Get your own wallet bitch!"
GIVE ME YOUR OPINIONS!

Angry Little Girls is my new favourite label. It makes me forget that I am currently trying to reach the pinnacle of Cheapskate-dom. I'm definitely getting a wallet and the "Shop with a Reusable Bag, Bitch!" reusable bag lol, but I'm so so so tempted to get the "I hate People" tote because it's so true of me, haha. But it's USD19! And I already have too many bags really. :(

It's hard to imagine the last true summer 'update' was slightly more than a month ago! It feels like ages have passed. Life has been a mess of work, intensive studying for midterms/quizes (I have one every week, joy is my life), and eating in & out of course. I averaged 8hours studying for 4 days before my MicroEcons midterm and still placed in the lower quartile. /shrugs :(

So yesterday I set off the fire alarm in my res. You know those annoying people who set off the fire alarm for no good reason? Today I became one of them. >< It was the smoke from fried kit kat I was making. And the day before I almost set the kitchen on fire making fried mars bars.

Exciting times, indeed. Batman @ Imax tomorrow, whoo!

Makan Jikan: sham sukiyaki, pad thai, triple-chip crunchy cookies, german-flag pound cake & more!

Cool things about my wedding weekend (so far)

  • Jul. 19th, 2008 at 11:25 AM
- Mom, Dad, Laura, and Laura's friend Jessica got here on Thursday night and in anticipation/celebration of the festivities, we went to The Montgomery Inn for dinner. The last time Ellen and I went there was in February, for my birthday and the food was fantastic. It didn't disappoint this time either.

- Mom and Dad gave Ellen and I an amazing wedding gift.

- Elliot and I spent the whole morning with my parents and sister and company in their hotel's pool.

- Melissa, Brad, and Mary got here much earlier than I thought they would!

- Miss & Brad got Ellen and I (or, to be completely honest and more precise, ME) Guitar Hero III! That, combined with Mary's gift of Guitar Hero Rocks the 80's means that I am planning on completely adbacating my responsibilities as a husband and father in the next week in order to rock out.

- Lunch at Panara.

- The rehersal at the hotel AND the rehersal dinner at The Houston Inn (The Frog Leg King of Southern Ohio). Nobody actually got the frogs' legs though.

- Going to see The Dark Knight last night... and it was pretty damn amazing. My only nitpick (and since I'm a comic fan, I have one) is the set design. I miss Anton Furst. The new Batman movies are tremendous, but I prefer the way the original movies' sets were a character unto themselves. The Dark Knight (and Batman Begins) just look like Chicago to me. However... I will concede that the very fact that these Batman movies look like they take place in the real world is probably part of their charm to begin with, so maybe I'll just shut up!

- The Watchmen trailer. I still don't know if I want to see a Watchmen movie, but the trailer is catnip for fans. Still, I feel like I don't really need any more than that. Has anyone ever seen Batman: Dead End? For a long time, that was THE best cinematic interpretation of Batman and a terrific short... but I always felt like, "Ok, I don't need any more than that." Zack Snyder has really done a fantastic job with it though.

- AND I'M GETTING MARRIED TODAY.

Dave Attel's new Gong Show ...

Letting Andy Dick on air without a leash or script? Tragic Comedy Gold ... but a sure way to get a show cancelled fast.

Things I need to stop doing but not really:

- Buying books
- Buying anything
- Avoiding my treadmill
- Watching the Watchmen trailer over and over
- Not seeing The Dark Knight (this one is exempt from the "but not really," because REALLY)

Things I need to do immediately:

- SEE THE DARK KNIGHT
- Laundry

The Dark Knight

"Give it to me. So I can do what you should have done ten minutes ago."

Friggin awesome sequence ...

Heath Ledger's Joker was on par with Moore's "The Killing Joke" Joker. Definately the creepiest Joker put to screen ever. Going to be a HARD time replacing him.

"Watch me make this pencil disappear."

If you liked the direction that BATMAN BEGINS started the film franchise heading towards, you'll love The Dark Knight.
to [info]londonbeauty001 and [info]moonseeker54! Have a great day, dolls! *hugs all around*

I slept even less last night and feel a tiny bit tired now. Work should be fun later on. ;)
Aaaanyway, cause I have nothing of interest to say (again), a meme nicked from [info]ms_erupt.
Ask me a question and I will make a video post with the answer.
I'll probably make a fool of myself, but that should be fun. :P

Massive Star Trek Squee!

Straight on to the pics. Some stragglers: Ewan McGregor, David Boreanaz, Eliza Dushku and Christian Bale. Seth Green. Kristen Bell, Sophia Bush and Barbie Boy. And some Fellowship of the Ring premiere goodness in big. :D

Dear CTV
FIX YOUR FUCKIN DAILY SHOW FEED
god damn thats annoying.
JEEZ, I wish someone would post a link about it, man oh man!

(Super fun sarcasm aside, it's pretty great, right? I'll buy the DVD.)

I spent today doing all sorts of wedding related stuff- picking up tuxedos, shopping for snacks to have at the house when the guests arrive, thinking up thing to do with Elliot as to get him out of the house so Ellen could do HER wedding-related stuff... it's been a busy day.

PLUS, my mother, father, and sister arrived this evening!

I think it might be stupid to say this, but it finally feels like this whole "wedding" thing is starting to happen.
